This assignment helped me develop more of an understanding of the diverse backgrounds of the students in our class. In order to appropriately value and care for all students, I need to be aware how students may feel is they have an unfamiliar identity in the school This assignment opened my eyes to the way some students may feel in their day to day lives.

This has helped me, as an educator, feel more empathy for these students. I was able to see an angle that I have not personally been able to. It was an authentic way of putting yourself in someone else's shoes. This assignment allowed me to have a better idea of where some students might be coming from.
I now feel that I have more awareness of the diverse student identities in the schools. I will continue to push for more acceptance and to embrace diversity.

This assignment allowed me to practice meeting the needs of different individuals in a variety of different ways. I effectively initiated different forms of learning that included writing, speaking, and doing for each student. While I worked with these Bayview students I was able to assess where they were at before I began working with them, during the time we spent tog ether, and the progress they each, individually made. I had a great opportunity to teach and make decisions that would be in their best interest. This process allowed me to further see the broad range of ability in the students that are within the same grade
